I have lived in the area of Welwyn Garden City for over 20 years and am married with three grown up children, who originally went to local schools.

I was brought up in East London and Essex and have lived and worked in Surrey and Hampshire before coming to work in Welwyn Garden City in 1995.  I worked as a Personal Injury Lawyer for over 30 years and during this time helped many people who had suffered serious and catastrophic injuries. In 2017, I took voluntary redundancy, and subsequently bought the coffee shop at Welwyn Garden City Railway Station in 2019, where I now work.

Having had an Italian mother, I speak, read and write fluent Italian and still have first cousins in Italy with whom I am in regular contact.

I was first elected as a Sherrards Ward Welwyn Hatfield Borough councillor in 2019 and was re-elected in 2023 for a second term and have worked hard with my Lib Dem colleagues to make a difference locally, which is still ongoing.

In 2023/24 I became Deputy Mayor and in 2024/25 will be Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, and feel humbled and privileged to serve people of our borough, as it is a great honour to do so.

As I am extremely concerned about homelessness, I am supporting Hertfordshire Young Homeless this year and hope to organise many events to raise money for the charity to make a difference.

Throughout my life, I have always believed in helping to improve the lives of people, especially relating to human rights, housing, education, health and the environment to enable people to have opportunities to reach their potential regardless of class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, transgender or religious background.   A strong believer in a meritocracy, it should not be where you are from, but where you are going that matters in life.
