Anthony Dennis, Candidate for Handside ward

Anthony Dennis

Candidate for Handside

One of the many things I value about living in our town is all the green space and amenities we have on our doorsteps. I want us all to work together to protect these green spaces and the unique character of Welwyn Garden City, particularly as we enter our centenary year in 2020. I am also keen to work hard to safeguard public services, and wherever possible enhance them, to make Handside and our town a better place for us and future generations.

I have lived in Hertfordshire most of my life, I grew up in Stevenage and have worked for local companies within Welwyn Hatfield and North Hertfordshire. I have also volunteered for local organisations including a Furniture re-use scheme and Age UK. Being able to talk to staff and patients I can see just how important high quality care is to many families.

I strongly believe we need to find ways to look after everyone in our community. I am passionate about fairness in society as well as public services and believe that everyone deserves to have an equal chance in life, starting in school with every child deserving to have a good/outstanding school place.

Across the Borough, Liberal Democrat councillors have visibly demonstrated their care and commitment to our communities. If elected to represent you I would work with Lib Dem colleagues to ensure that these high standards are maintained. I would always be available to listen to any concerns, and work with you to resolve them. I am keen to make sure the interests of people of all ages and backgrounds are represented on the Borough Council, as I have seen how important it is that our community works for everybody who lives here.

I hope the Lib Dem Team and I will be able to rely on your support.
