Candidate for Sherrards
I was born and brought up in East London and Essex and came to work in Welwyn Garden City in 1995. I have lived in Sherrards for almost 16 years and am married with three children.
I worked as a Personal Injury Lawyer for over 30 years. During this time I learnt a lot while helping people who had suffered serious and catastrophic injuries. In 2017, I took voluntary redundancy, and subsequently bought the coffee shop at Welwyn Garden City Station, where I now work.
I am currently working actively with Network Rail, alongside Lib Dem Councillor Malcolm Cowan, to try to secure the maintenance improvements that the station desperately needs and to ensure that this happens in time for the Centenary celebrations of Welwyn Garden City in 2020.
I know that you want a Councillor who will work for you and I believe my experience in dealing with complex and sensitive matters will prove invaluable as I strive to deliver what’s best for the residents of Sherrards. In particular, I will work to:
- Provide better facilities for our young people;
- Preserve our unique heritage and green spaces, while at the same time providing good quality social and affordable housing with proper infrastructure;
- Protect our environment and improving our recycling processes;
- Save Gosling Sports Centre and Ski slope.
As you can see, there is still a great deal to do, and, like you, we demand better. You have already put your trust in my excellent Lib Dem colleagues Barbara Gibson (County) and Jean Paul Skoczylas (Borough) to represent you, and I am really looking forward to being part of our strong Lib Dem team, working to deliver for you, the people of Sherrards.
Vote for me on 2nd May to give Sherrards a strong voice on the Borough Council
