Organisations across the UK run events and activities throughout Parliament Week which explore what parliamentary democracy means to them and their community. Parliament Week is coordinated by the House of Commons with support from the House of Lords.
The aim of the initiative is to increase civic participation within residents living in the UK. This campaign addresses the issue of civic engagement and helps to build a platform for "community activism". Overall the Parliament Week project is set up to enthuse people to get involved in democratic processes and intensify the dialogue between institutions and their citizens.
